Music for a Mellow Monday

Red Carpet Distraction

Nothing like red carpet photos to ruin a productive morning!
I love to see some beautiful dresses though...

Elizabeth Moss in Zac Posen is probably my favourite

I do love Kelly Osborne in Tom Ward

And the elegant Tine Fey in Oscar De La Renta

These colours are beautiful on Carrie Preston but the cut could do more for her

Beutiful Monique Lhuillier gown. I sighed when I saw it.

Classic chic, navy and gold, Jayma Mays killed it in Burberry

Tarantino Cool

I love these poster designs by Ibraheem Youssef. They dont hit you over the head like the run of the mill film posters, they are smart and simple.

Oh the pretty Dresses

I have to comment on these dresses. They are beautiful.

Designed and made in County Cork, Charlote and Jane are a new Irish fashion lable that seem to be everywhere at the moment, they have been featured on 'Nationwide', 'The Irish Farmers Journal', 'The Irish Times', 'The Irish Independant' and 'The Irish Examiner' to name a few.

All their fabrics are sourced in Ireland and they employ local dress makers in the Kinsale area.
One day I will own one of these dresses. Sigh

The Hand Drawn Map Association

I was delghted to come across this curious collection of hand drawn maps . The website started back in 2008 and has grown from there. There is now an appompaning book available, 'From Here to There' published by Princeton Press.

My Morning Off!!

Exciting times, for the first time this week I have a morning off! No sweet shop for me this morning.

With all this time I have every intention of making myself an elastic-waist skirt
Armed with a yard of fabric, wide elastic, a scissors and sewing machine I hope to have a pretty skirt ready to wear in an hour.

Big thanks to the following tutorials

'French' Sweets

I had the opportunity this past weekend to savour the delights of the Rose of Tralee festival.
Imagine my delight on seeing such a display of pick and mix sweets at the French Market.
I so love pick and mix! It totally brightened up a damp day in Tralee (it always seems to rain on poor Kerry)

Moment of Calm

I heard this last night on Donal Dineen's radio programme
Its only lovely

Rock Paper Scissors on Etsy

Now its time for some shameless promotion.
It is my pleasure to endorse the wonderful craftsman ship of my dear friend Anna Healy. Her hand made cards are available on Etsy as well as Kennys Bookshop Galway

Anna has been making cards for longer than I have known her, each one is lovingly crafted and unique.

They can be seen here at her online shop and I thoroughly recommend you have a look

The Typographer

I fell instantly in love with this image by Bianca Gomez.

It reminds me of a friend who once spent three hours lecturing me on the importance of typyfaces. I had never disagreed with him on their importance but apparently I did not know enough about them.
Love you anyway Dave and thanks for the insight

The joy of Radio

It has been ages since I actually Listened to the radio; it has been on in the background at work but only as noise. Last Thursday, I had the good fortune to hear the beginning of The Paul McCloone show presented by Dave Couse.

Dave Couse is a genius. I have been known to plan my Saturday night journey back to Limerick around his radio show 'The Lighthouse'

But back to the song. Its a shane I had never heard it before!
Love it.

Beautiful Sherbet Bowling bag

Saw his bag over at the 'Things I fell in love with today' blog. I think its only lovely
It comes form FashionReRun on Etsy.
